ODA wins district crown

Lucas Friss hit a game-winning double to right field in the top of the seventh inning, propelling The Out-of-Door Academy baseball team to a 1-0 victory over Shorecrest Prep in the Class 2A-District 11 championship April 28.

Ryan Kaminski hit a double and later came around to score on Friss’ RBI double with two outs in the inning.

Sophomore Alex Horan pitched a complete game for the Thunder to secure the victory. With the win, ODA will host the Community School of Naples in the regional quarterfinals May 3.
