Married: Christina Louise Russell and Adam Weston Cameron

Sarasota native Adam Cameron met his new wife, Christina Cameron, through her sister, Denise, and brother-in-law, Jason Wendell. Adam, a good friend of Jason’s since preschool, would constantly come up in conversations while Christina was with her sister, Denise, Jason and their two kids, Silas and Tristan. The Wendells eventually connected the two, and after talking long distance for a few months, Adam flew in May 2012 to Charlotte, N.C., to meet Christina. They dated long distance until October 2012, when Christina moved to Sarasota to be with Adam.

Adam proposed to Christina 12/12/12; he put the ring in her Christmas stocking at his mom’s house.

Christina grew up in Binghamton, N.Y., but home is where her parents live in Knoxville. Adam and Christina were married Nov. 9 in Knoxville, Tenn. They had the ceremony at St. John Neumann Catholic Church — her parents’ parish. Cocktail hour included their signature drink, otter water, which consisted of green-colored vodka and Sprite. Adam and Christina made their entrance to the reception to Metallica’s “Enter Sandman.” Christina put together almost all of the rustic décor for the reception; she used twigs in milk jugs on wooden chargers for the centerpieces.

Adam is Pine View High School graduate. He has a bachelor’s of science in business administration from the University of South Florida, Sarasota-Manatee and is currently an IT specialist at Numismatic Guaranty Corporation in Lakewood Ranch. Christina has a degree in business administration and is currently the assistant box office manager at the Sarasota Orchestra.

For their honeymoon, the newlyweds spent seven cold days in Banff and Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
