The couple: Kathryn Naomi Baga, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Victor and Peggy Baga, of Osprey, and Eric Jordan Fried, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ronald and Jacquelyn Fried, of Roslyn, N.Y. The couple currently resides in Miami Beach.

BACKGROUND
: Kathryn, a graduate of The Pine View School, Connecticut College and the Miami Advertising School, is a junior account manager at KSC Kreate studios, in Hollywood. Eric, a graduate of The University of Wisconsin, Cornell University and Johnson & Wales University, College of Culinary Arts, is the managing operator of 8 oz. Burger Bar, in Miami.

INTERESTS
: Kathryn loves to cook exotic cuisine and is an avid reader and photographer. Eric is an avid triathlete who loves craft beer and spending time with their dog, Mocha.

THE PROPOSAL: Eric proposed Dec. 10, while hanging 30 feet in the air at an indoor rock-climbing arena in South Miami.

THE WEDDING: The couple will be married at the Bagas’ summer home Sept. 8, on Martha’s Vineyard, with the reception taking place at The Boathouse overlooking the Edgartown Harbor. Kathryn’s two sisters, Jessica and Victoria, and Eric’s two brothers, Neal and Mark, will be in the wedding party.

The couple currently resides in Miami Beach.  

The Newlyweds

How they met: Sarasota Christian High School. Kristin was the new girl in school and played on the volleyball team. Mitch was back from college and working out in the gym and made a bet with his friends that he would date Kristin. He won the bet.

The proposal: Mitch proposed Dec. 13, 2010, in New York City. Before the trip, the couple had gone shopping at Old Navy. Mitch came up with a fake Old Navy sweepstakes story and told Kristin he had entered her to win a scarf. He sent her fake letters in the mail and told her she had won the third-round prize — a carriage ride in New York City. He proposed during the carriage ride.

The wedding: Jan. 7, at Marie Selby Botanical Gardens

The reception: The Ritz-Carlton, Sarasota lawn

The dress: The Phoebe, by Modern Trousseau. Designed with layered tulle and a drop-waist bodice with a sweetheart neckline.

Father-daughter dance: “The Way You Look Tonight,” by Frank Sinatra

Bride-and-groom’s first dance: “Angel,” by Robin Thicke

Fun fact: A photo booth at the reception allowed guests to take fun snapshots of themselves.

The getaway car: Kristin’s grandparents, Jack and Joyce Brady, drove the couple away in Jack’s 1934 Ford horseless carriage.
