Obituary: Theresa 'Teddie' Sinick

Theresa ‘Teddie’ Sinick, 98, of Longboat Key, died April 14.

Born in Bridgeport, Conn., Mrs. Sinick was the youngest of nine children.

During World War II, she served her country as an assistant to Commodore Delvimer Steece, supervisory head of the Department of the Navy. She later owned a hardware business in Windsor, Conn., with her husband, Sidney, for nearly a half-century.

Mrs. Sinick was a member of Temple Beth Israel, Hadassah, ORT and the National Council of Jewish Women.

Mrs. Sinick was preceded in death by her husband, Sidney, and eight siblings.

She is survived by her daughter, Gail; son, Marshall; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Memorial donations may be made to Temple Beth Israel or to Manasota Lighthouse for the Blind and Visually Impaired.
