Sherwin “Sonny” Welson, 84, of Longboat Key and West Hartford, Conn., died Aug. 5.
Born Jan. 13, 1929, in Hartford, Conn., he graduated from Colby College in Maine and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
Mr. Welson is survived by his wife of 59 years, Elinor; daughters Cathy Welson and Linda Rosenthal; sister, Shirley Diamond, of Salem, Conn.; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
A service was held Aug. 7, in Hartford.
