Obituary: Pieter Moen Hahn

Pieter Moen Hahn, 60, of Bradenton, died Aug. 25.

Born July 5, 1954, in Wareham, Mass., and raised on Cape Cod in Woods Hole, Mass., Mr. Hahn also resided in Hatchville, Sandwich and Hyannis, Mass., Fort Walton Beach and Barbados. He is a graduate of Falmouth High School, in Falmouth, Mass., and attended The Eaglebrook School, in Deerfield, Mass.

Mr. Hahn loved the sea and sailing with his father, mother and sisters into his 20s. His favorite sayings were “Life’s a trip — take one” and “Go Rays!”

He was preceded in death by his mother, Elizabeth Alton; father Jan Hahn; older brother, Henry Fay Mixter Jr.; maternal grandparents, Dr. and Mrs. Benjamin Harrison Alton; and paternal grandparents, Pieter Hahn and Lijntje Piet.

Mr. Hahn is survived by his brother, Benjamin Alton Mixter, of Big Pine Key; three sisters, Tineke Hahn of Stuart, Erika Hahn of Falmouth, Mass., and Heidi Parshley Hahn Lepage of Uxbridge, Mass.; aunt Alison Alton Robb of North Falmouth, Mass.; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He is also survived by his honorary adopted big sister, Dee Ferreira; his honorary adopted brothers, Ron Jarvis and Phillip Thrapp; and his wonderful colleagues at Fantasy Travel.

At his request, there will be no services. Celebrations of his life will be held at dates to be announced. One will be held in mid-November on Anna Maria Island, and the other on Nobska Beach in Woods Hole, Mass. His ashes will be scattered to the seven seas and four winds.
