Dr. Paul Massik, 92, of Longboat Key, died Feb. 11.
Born March 14, 1917, he was a former resident of Newton, Mass. He graduated from Boston Latin School, Harvard College and Tufts Medical School. Dr. Massik was the first to bring mammograms to Boston and was a founder of Goddard Hospital, in Massachusetts. He enjoyed bridge and was featured as a “Player of the Week” in The Longboat Observer.
Dr. Massik was preceded in death by his daughter, Robin Colton, and stepson, Richard Magnet. He is survived by his wife, Charlotte; sons Andrew, of Colorado, and Peter, of California; daughter, Jody Stahelin, of Switzerland; stepson, Jeff Magnet, of Massachusetts; brother, Joseph, of Boston; and six grandchildren.
A service was held Monday, Feb. 15, at Temple Beth Israel. Burial followed at Palms-Robarts Memorial Park.
