Obituary: Louis Beigbeder

Louis Beigbeder, of Longboat Key and formerly of Boston and Norwood, Mass., died Jan. 5. He was 97.

Mr. Beigbeder was born in Boston. He was one of five children of French immigrants, Paul and Louise Beigbeder. He graduated from Boston English High School and earned his bachelor’s, master’s and juris doctorate degrees from Northeastern University, in Boston. After working for the FBI for 21 years, he opened his own law practice in Norwood, Mass., where he practiced until his retirement at the age of 90. For several years, Mr. Beigbeder also served as a special master in the Superior Court, in Dedham, Mass.

He was a longtime member and moderator of the Islington Community Church, in Westwood, Mass., and in later years was a faithful member of the Longboat Island Chapel. Mr. Beigbeder was also active in Constellation Lodge, AF and AM of Dedham, Mass., Mahded Grotto and the Westwood Rotary Club, in Westwood, Mass. He served on numerous boards and committees in both Massachusetts and Florida.

Mr. Beigbeder was preceded in death by his first wife, Jean E. Beigbeder, and second wife, June Beigbeder; brothers, Alfred and Edgar; sisters, Marguerite and Marie; and son, Peter.

He is survived by two daughters, Mianne Edwards and Lynnette Lancaster; two sons, Stephen and John; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Services were held in Westwood, Mass. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cranberry Hospice, 36 Cordage Park Circle, Suite 326, Plymouth, Mass., 02360.
