Obituary: David Daneman III

David Daneman III, 81, of Longboat Key, died Jan. 21.

Born Jan. 21, 1933 in Chelsea, Mass., Mr. Daneman and his wife, Sally, raised their family in Lincroft, N.J., before retiring in 1993 to Longboat Key.

Mr. Daneman was an outdoorsman who loved fishing, boating and the beach. He was known for his larger-than-life personality and was simply “Pop-Pop” to his large clan.

Mr. Daneman was preceded in death by his daughter, Linda.

He is survived by his wife, Sally, of Bradenton; sons Stephen, of Tampa, Michael, of Lincroft, Brian, of Little Silver, N.J., and Daniel, of Venice; daughter, Deborah, of Jackson, N.J.; 14 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Jan. 30, at St Mary, Star of the Sea, Catholic Church, 4280 Gulf of Mexico Drive. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation.
