Obituary: Blanche Miller

Blanche Miller, 96, of Longboat Key, died Jan. 19.

Ms. Miller moved in 1992 from New York to Florida. She was a resident of Seaplace Condominiums.

Known by her friends and family as “Auntie Mame,” Ms. Miller loved entertaining, cooking and playing games. One of her greatest talents was matchmaking, much like Yente in “Fiddler on the Roof.”

Ms. Miller is survived by her children, Jordan Paul and Bonnie Armstrong; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

She will be buried Jan. 24, at Sarasota Memorial Park. Rabbi Jonathan Katz will preside.

A celebration of her life will take place at a later date, at her home in Seaplace.
