Sarasota Police arrested 16 people during an undercover operation aimed at disrupting the prostitution problem on North Tamiami Trail, according to a Sept. 12 news release.

Officers arrested nine women for prostitution, seven men for solicitation of prostituion and another man on drug charges. Police also seized six vehicles during the two-day operation, according to the release.
