None injured in bus crash

A vehicular crash Thursday involving a Manatee County school bus yielded no injuries. 

More than 30 children were on board at the time of the incident, which occurred in the 1800 block of Lakewood Ranch Boulevard.

A Florida Highway Patrol report states a school bus driven by Michael Lawson was traveling westbound in a parking lot. A GMC van driven by Thomas Spohnholtz, 29, of Sarasota, was stopped at a stop sign facing in a southbound direction, but the driver failed to notice the bus and proceeded forward. 

Spohnholtz' vehicle struck the right side of the bus, the report states.

Spohnholtz has been charged with careless driving.
