Nominations needed for unsung heroes

The Boys and Girls Club of Sarasota County and The Women’s Leadership Council are looking for people who exemplify kindheartedness and generosity for the Men and Women of the Year Award.

The award recognizes unsung heroes for their accomplishments and contributions to humanity and to the lives of children and others.

Led by attorney Anne Weintraub, the WLC core committee will gather nominations from the Sarasota Community at large.

“We are lucky enough to live in a community filled with residents who donate so much of their time, talents and resources to help others,” Weintraub said. “It is our honor to recognize special people, and I hope to receive plenty of well-deserved nominations.”

Nominations are sought from Sarasota, Venice, North Port and Newtown, and are to be post-marked by Oct. 22, 2010, to be considered. Forms may be found online at www.boysandgirlsclubs.com or by calling 366-3911.

The BGCSC will host a recognition luncheon Dec. 3, to honor selected men and women.
