The Department of Community Affairs State Land Planning Agency has completed its review of a Comprehensive Plan amendment related to Bayfront Park passed Aug. 10 by the Longboat Key Town Commission.

According to a Sept. 13 letter sent by Regional Planning Administrator Brenda Winningham to Mayor Jim Brown, the agency found no provisions in the amendment that necessitate a challenge.

The amendments change the Future Land Use Map to designate certain properties adjacent to Bayfront Park Recreation Center as open space.

The amendment will become effective 31 days after the notification date unless an affected person challenges it.
