+ County government launches service app
Drivers who notice litter along the roadway or a broken traffic light will now have a way to contact Manatee County while on the go.

The county has launched its first request-for-service app — MyManatee Mobile — for iPhone and Android users, available now through the Apple App Store or Google Play.

Users can report common problems or service needs by entering the address of the incident, taking a photo and entering a description of the problem in the provided areas. They also can check the county’s calendar of events, read area news and connect with the Citizen’s Action Center.

+ Public comments on health care available
Comments the public made on health care at May 28 and June 3 health-care forums may now be accessed on Manatee County’s website, mymanatee.org.

At the workshops, individuals participated in roundtable discussions on topics relating to county health-care issues. The public said the county needs to place more attention on mental health services and start health education sooner, among other recommendations.

Manatee County Community Services Director Brenda Rogers presented a report on the public’s input at the June 17 county commission meeting.
