+ Commission to discuss live-stream videos
The Longboat Key Town Commission will discuss the possibility of offering live-stream and archived videos on its website, longboatkey.org. According to an email Town Manager Bruce St. Denis wrote to commissioners, the services that Ryan Bodie, of Ryan Bodie Films, has proposed for the town could enhance the current level of service the town receives at a cost of $17,000 to $20,000, depending on the number of meetings. However, the proposed 2011-12 fiscal year budget doesn’t provide funding for televising or video recording of meetings. The commission will discuss the idea at its Sept. 12 budget workshop.

+ No garbage pickup on Labor Day
There will be no garbage pickup Monday, Sept. 5, in observation of Labor Day. The alternate holiday pickup for solid waste and recycling will be Tuesday, Sept. 6.

+ Correction
An Our Town in the Aug. 25 issue should have stated that Dorothy Williams is a notary.
