New trolley meeting scheduled

A joint meeting of the town of Longboat Key and the Manatee and Sarasota county commissions will be held in November to reach a deal that would keep the trolley service running on Longboat Key.

All three boards will meet at 2 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 2, at the Sarasota County Administration Center, 1660 Ringling Blvd.

In the meantime, the Manatee County Commission has agreed to hold off discontinuing its portion of the funding of the Longboat Key trolley route until the end of the year.
