New Sarasota stores set opening dates

Costco Wholesale Corp. and Trader Joe’s have announced opening dates for their new Sarasota location.

Costco Wholesale Corp. has announced it’s opening its new Sarasota Square mall location Aug. 24. Costco is hiring approximately 200 employees for its new 145,000 square-foot location, which was built on the site of the former Dillard’s that closed in 2009.

Trader Joe’s, meanwhile, alerted Palmer Ranch residents its 11,200-square-foot Sarasota store will open Sept. 7 in the former Rooms to Go furniture store spot at 4034 S. Tamiami Trail.

Those interested in a Trader Joe’s grocery store position can apply in person at the store 10 a.m. July 30. Applications are also available at traderjoes.com.
