New meetings scheduled this summer

The Longboat Key Town Commission and a new subcommittee formed to implement a new 25-year vision for the town both have new meetings scheduled in July at Town Hall.

Town Manager Bruce St. Denis scheduled a 9 a.m. Monday, July 11, budget workshop to discuss the town’s 2011-12 preliminary budget. The commission also has several scheduled executive sessions, which are closed to the general public, to discuss a new three-year contract for Longboat Key firefighters.

Also, a subcommittee made up of Vice Mayor David Brenner, Commissioner Jack Duncan and Planning and Zoning Board Chairwoman B.J. Webb and planning board member Leonard Garner will meet 9 a.m. Tuesday, July 12, and 9 a.m. Wednesday, July 13.
