"Cosmos" is coming to Sarasota in 2015.

Neil deGrasse Tyson, the famed astrophysicist and host of the television show "Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey" joins former Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke and four others as speakers scheduled to appear during the 2015 Ringling Town Hall Lecture Series. The program begins in January and runs through March.

Tyson was a frequent guest on "the Daily Show" and "the Colbert Report," and an author before launching the sequel to Carl Sagan's "Cosmos: A Personal Journey" this year. The former college wrestler and ballroom dancer is known for his ability to simplify and communicate complex scientific theories during lectures.

Bernanke stepped down as chairman of the Fed this year after steering the central bank's policy response to the economic downturn.

The other speakers include author Dr. Charles Krauthammer, former presidential candidate Jon Hunstman Jr., explorer Dan Buettner, and women's rights activist Ayaan Hirsi Ali.
