Mustangs win season opener

The Lakewood Ranch High boys golf team won its 5-team season opener Aug. 29, at Rosedale Golf & Country Club.

The Mustangs shot 161 to finish ahead of Bradenton Christian (163), Braden River (174), Sarasota (184) and Manatee (190).

Senior co-captain Ramsey Touchberry earned medalist honors with a 1-under par 35. Fellow co-captain Danny Walker shot a 38. Ben Parisi and Daniel Miller each added a 44.

Lakewood returns to action tomorrow in the East Lake Invitational in Tarpon Springs.
