Mustangs slug past rival Pirates

Cameron Pearcey hit a two-run home run in the top of the first inning to power the visiting Lakewood Ranch High baseball team to an 8-3 victory over Braden River Feb. 21.

The Mustangs notched their third straight victory after a season-opening loss to Venice.

Brad Zunica pitched 6 2/3 innings, allowing five hits and two walks while striking out five. Zunica also went 3-for-4 at the plate with two doubles and two RBIs.

Dylan Lee went 3-for-3 with a RBI to lead the way for the Pirates at the plate.
