The Manatee Technical Institute Postsecondary Chapter of HOSA, formerly known as Health Occupations Students of America, dominated the Postsecondary-Collegiate Division at the HOSA State Leadership Conference April 3 through April 6, in Lake Buena Vista.

MTI students won 17 first-place, five second-place and eight third-place finishes.

MTI dental assisting program students earned honors, as well. Alexandra Harper-Creadon was awarded the Florida HOSA Foundation Scholarship for postsecondary students, and Xamadi Johnson earned the Barbara James Service Award for community service.  

Medalists will advance to the HOSA National Leadership Conference in June, in Lake Buena Vista.
