Motorcyclist dies in head-on collision with dump truck

49-year-old William Bierbaum died in a head-on crash today when his motorcycle drifted into the path of a dump truck, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Bierbaum was driving his 2007 Harley southbound on County Rode 675 north of Rye Road around 9:40 a.m.

He drifted into the northbound lane and entered the path of a dump truck. The two vehicles collided, and Bierbaum suffered critical injuries. The dump truck driver was not hurt.

It is unknown if Bierbaum, who was wearing a helmet, was under the influence of alcohol.

The dump truck driver was not. No charges have been filed.
