McNeal teachers score highest in effectiveness in Manatee County

The 2012-2013 teacher evaluation results released this week by the Florida Department of Education show an East County school has the largest number of "highly effective" instructors in Manatee County.

McNeal Elementary's score of 95.8% landed the school the top spot.

On a county-wide scale, a total of 27 elementary, middle and high schools scored 50% or higher in the highest effectivity column.

In comparison to the state average, 32.3%, Manatee County reflected a higher total — 51.3%. 

The data reflects scores teachers received based on certain criteria — student performance, instructional practice and professional responsibilities. 

Percentages for East County teachers' deemed as highly effective:

Elementary

Bashaw — 6.3%

Braden River — 53.7%                    

Freedom — 70.2 %                     

Gullett — 25%

Tara — 35%

Willis — 93.5%

Witt — 83.8%

Middle

Braden River — 85.2%

Haile — 26%

Nolan — 34%

High

Braden River: 66.7%

Lakewood Ranch: 66.6%
