The gymnasium at McIntosh middle school was very patriotic this Tuesday during their Veteran's Day Ceremony. The middle school students and staff gathered in the gymnasium along with friends and family members of the about 100 veterans who attended the ceremony.

McIntosh's technology teacher, Jeri Cocchi, lead the ceremony which included performances by the school’s band and choir along with help from Sarasota Military Academy's drum corps, drill team and bagpipers.

Four students also shared their winning essays dealing with the importance of veterans and Veteran's Day in front of their classmates and with the veterans.

The school also presented a plaque to Sarasota Military Academy's Headmaster, Dan Kennedy, in "appreciation to your commitment and support in helping our veteran community".
