MBC Elite posts top 10 finish

The Manatee Basketball Club Elite 10th grade team finished 10th at the 2015 AAU Boys Basketball 16U Division I National Championship July 21 through July 27, in Louisville, Ky. 

After winning the AAU ninth grade Division II championship last year, the team moved up a division. MBC Elite went 5-2 in the 56-team tournament, posting the highest finish among Florida teams in this year’s event. 

MBC Elite compiled a 50-8 record this season, including a 20-1 record against 11th and 12th grade teams. 

The team is made up primarily of players from Lakewood Ranch and Braden River High. MBC Elite players include: Blauvelt Georges, Devin Twenty, Deoni Cason, Sam Hester, Kodey Elliot, Cameron Lindblad, Jack Kelley, Conor Lusina, Jeremiah Zio, Will Anderson and Justin Muscara.
