Matthews rescue opens Saturday

East County wildlife rehabilitator and educator Justin Matthews officially will open his home to the public for wildlife presentations for the first time this weekend.

Matthews, who has spent the last four years conducting wildlife tours at Mixon Fruit Farms, now is opening the Justin Matthews Wildlife Educational Center tomorrow at his home, 7416 41st Ave. E., Bradenton.

Tours will be offered at 1 p.m., and at 5 p.m., June 12-13. The 5 p.m. presentation also will include a falconry demonstration.

Cost is $5 for adults and $3 for children.
