Manatee Technical College will be the first site in Manatee County to receive a WeatherSTEM package, a camera and computer program that captures and distributes atmospheric data.

Anyone in the community, including Manatee County School District teachers and students, will be able to download an app and get real-time weather information. WeatherSTEM includes a curriculum in science, technology, engineering and math that teachers can incorporate at various grade levels and disciplines.

Inventor of WeatherSTEM Edward Mansouri will give a talk and demonstration on the equipment from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Oct. 7, at MTC’s Wagner Auditorium, 6305 State Road 70 E., Bradenton.
