Manatee picks Super Bowl winner

Mote Marine Aquarium manatee Buffett has picked the winning Super Bowl team for the fourth year in a row.

Buffett and another manatee, Hugh, were asked to choose their favored teams Friday, Feb. 4, by swimming to special targets marked with team logos. Buffett swam to the Green Bay Packers logo, while Hugh headed for the Pittsburgh Steelers logo.

The target practice took place during the manatees’ daily training sessions, which are beneficial to their well-being and allow them to participate in research.
