Manatee Glens hosts suicide prevention walk

Individuals who have been affected by suicide will gather Saturday to remembers loved ones lost and raise awareness about suicide prevention.

Manatee Glens will host the 9th Annual 5K Walk for Life at 8:30 a.m. Sept. 24 at Sutton Park, located at the corner of 6th Street W. and 10th Avenue W. in Palmetto.

Registration starts at 7:30 with a scenic walk over the Manatee River at 8:50 a.m. and a butterfly/bubble release at 10:15 a.m. Food and entertainment will start at 10:30 a.m.

The walk serves to provide depression awareness, suicide prevention and provides support for family and friends who have lost a loved one to suicide.
