The Manatee County Sheriff’s Office has nabbed another burglar in action in the East County.

Deputies arrested Jeremy Riffe, 39, around 1 a.m., this morning, for burglarizing The Links Golf Course on Upper Manatee River Road, a sheriff’s office report states.

The COPS North unit was conducting burglary surveillance in the area of 990 Upper Manatee River Road when an officer observed Riffe entering the fenced perimeter of the business. He removed a boat motor and placed it over the fence to pick up later. Riffe later returned with a truck and exited the vehicle with a pair of bolt cutters and was observed entering the fenced property and trying to cut a lock on the trailer.

Riffe placed the bolt cutters and the boat motor in the truck and left the scene, the report states. He was
stopped and arrested a short distance away.
