A Manatee County advisory board has endorsed plans for a new movie theater in Ellenton.

The Manatee County Planning Commission on Dec. 8 recommended approval of I.M.G. Enterprises’ plans for a 34,000-square-foot movie theater and an adjacent commercial center on 7.3 acres southeast of the Ellenton Premium Outlets mall.

The approvals include the movie theater and 22,800 square feet for commercial uses.

The project, called Ellenton Theatre, is located at the northwest corner of 60th Avenue East and Factory Shops Boulevard, at 5939 25th St. E., Ellenton.

Manatee County commissioners will have the final vote on the project next month.
