Heading into the Nov. 2 general election, what has been the one factor or factors influencing your voting decision?

Betty Rahm
“I read up on the issues and the candidates, then I read the recommendations made in our local paper, which I trust. I decided then to follow the recommendations that were made.”

Pat Hagstrom
“I really didn’t think there were many choices. Actually, I cast my vote against many of the candidates, not really for any of them.”

Rachel Heidelberger
“I was really most concerned with the moral issues and the life the candidate led. I didn’t listen to any of their promises. “

Marcia Bayard
“The ads turned me off. I looked for someone who appeared to have the best interests of the state at heart and not interested solely in power.”

Pat Gehring
“I voted primarily Democrat, but I did look at all the candidates. In one race, specifically, I was concerned with the candidate’s questionable business dealings.”

Ed Davin
“Basically, I voted Republican. Washington is out of control, and I think maybe the Republicans can bring some balance to it.”

Marta Altizer
“I do, to some extent, vote along party lines. However, I am concerned with moral issue and financial responsibility.”
