On Veterans Day, do you have special thoughts about someone or some event?

Bruce Bozzi
“I am a veteran of the Korean War, and I do remember that on Veterans Day. But I do have a special memory. My uncle Ed Crecci served in the Army during World War II. He served in Germany and brought me back a sword taken from a German soldier.”

Lois Miller
“My special memory is of my father, F. Burt Baer. He served in the Army during World War I and spent most of his time in France. He loved Paris and learned enough French to flirt with the girls. He also kept his uniform, including his puttees for many years.”

Murray Goldberg
“During the Korean War, I served with the Coast Guard. I think of the crew I served with, and I also think about all the men and women now serving our country.”

Lloyd McGlincey
“I am a veteran who served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. I especially remember a friend who died in an airplane crash. Also, I have several friends who fought in World War II, and thoughts of them always come into my mind.”

Maureen Stark
“My two husbands were in the service. One was in the U.S.Navy and the other, the Army Air Force. I am proud of their service to our country.”

Bill Colton
“During World War II, I was in the Army Engineer Corps, but then we became the infantry and fought in the Battle of Bulge. Fortunately I did not get hit, but I always remember the guys who didn’t get back.”

Carol Fischbein
“While I have no personal connection to anyone in the service, I am most grateful for all our men and women who make such tremendous sacrifice to serve us. I am truly most grateful and thank them so much.”
