Question: What are your favorite memories of the Colony?

Donna Boeve, sales manager and director of conference services. Boeve worked at the Colony for nearly 28 years.
“The French film festival (which the Colony used to host). The first year, the guest of honor was Audrey Hepburn. She was probably more beautiful inside than she was outside.”

Alex Fleiss, who has visited the Colony with his family every year since he was 2.
“The kids camp was so much fun. They used to roast a pig out on the beach. There were Saturday nigh barbecues … Volleyball games on the beach.”

Michele and Jim Captain. The couple hosted a reception at the Colony for the John Captain/Gio Restaurants Culinary Scholarship and will likely hold the reception there again this year.
“(Guests) loved it here. It was very casual. They did a great job with dinner on the beach.”

Gail and Richard Geraci, first-time visitors in town for their niece’s wedding.
“We just got here today. It’s very nice.”

Yvonne Thompson
, who has has worked as director of guest services at the Colony for nearly two years. Her favorite event was the Stone Crab, Seafood & Wine Festival.
“It’s been a nice change to see so much of the hospitality community come together to help us place employees.”

Trish Lorino, director of marketing. Lorino has worked at the Colony for six years.
“The Stone Crab festival. The whole property comes together. It all culminates in such a great weekend. We also loved the Fourth of July. There was a time when we were the only fireworks on the island. It was fun for us and the people in town.”
