The Manatee County Sheriff's Office is investigating an armed robbery that occurred Thursday afternoon at a gas station just west of Lockwood Ridge Road in the 2800 block of University Parkway.

A sheriff's office report states the victim was talking on his phone at the gas station when a tan Buick drove into the parking lot and parked near his car. The driver of the Buick stared at the victim for a few seconds and then got out of his car with another black male. The suspects approached the victim, and one pulled out a small black handgun, pointed it at the victim and threatened to kill him. The other male suspect said, "No, take his phone. Take his money," the report states.

The suspects stole $40 cash and a $150 metro PCS phone. They returned to their vehicle and fled the area.

The first suspect is described as a light-skinned black male, about 5'5" and 160 pounds with long dreads and two pony tails hanging over his forehead. Both suspects were wearing all black clothing.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-866-634-8477.
