Man nearly robbed near Natalie Way

An unknown suspect unsuccessfully attempted to rob a man near the intersection of Natalie Way and State Road 70 Monday night.

A Manatee County Sheriff's Office report states the victim, who remains unidentified, was walking home around 11 p.m. April 23 when he was confronted by an unknown suspect 

The suspect unsuccessfully attempted to take the victim's personal property by force. In the struggle, the victim suffered a small laceration that was caused by a weapon the suspect was carrying. The type of weapon used is unknown, the report states.

The investigation is ongoing.
