Salvatore Ferragamo, Italian winemaker and grandson of the famed Italian shoe designer of the same name, welcomed Longboat Key residents to his family’s private villa in the village of Il Borro, Italy. Key residents Mark and Cindy Wolfendale, Michael and Linda Burke and Gene and Judy Toombs recently returned from their Italy trip, during which they viewed the historic Palio horse race, in Sienta, Italy, and enjoyed a candlelit dinner on the terrace at the Ferragamo villa.

“Salvatore Ferragamo was the perfect host,” said Linda Burke. “We enjoyed a wine tasting followed by a beautiful, candlelit dinner on the terrace. The light was incredible. It’s a stunningly beautiful landscape. This was truly a trip of a lifetime.”

Sarasota-based Admiral Travel International’s luxury tour division, AuthentEscapes, designed the special excursion that offers experiences usually off-limits to tourists.
