Longboat nest opening to take place Wednesday

The latest turtle to hatch on Longboat Key will be excavated Aug. 10, at Whitney Beach, 6751 Gulf of Mexico Drive.

Another turtle nest hatched and will be excavated at 7:45 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 10, at Whitney Beach, 6751 Gulf of Mexico Drive. Those who are interested, can park at the north end of Whitney Beach and follow the path by the tennis courts. Keep following to the beach, until tiki huts are visible.
