Lynches St. Patrick’s Day Celebration — Takes place all day at Lynches Pub & Grub, 19B N. Blvd. of Presidents. The restaurant continues its tradition of being the island’s biggest St. Patrick’s Day celebration and will feature bagpipers, Irish dancers and traditional Irish food. Call 388-5550.

St. Patrick’s Jazz Concert/Corned Beef and Cabbage Dinner — Takes place at Longboat Island Chapel, 6200 Gulf of Mexico Drive. The jazz concert will be from 3:30 to 5 p.m. and feature the sounds of Al Hixon, Jim Wellen, Mark Multrup, John Lamb, James Suggs, Herb Bruce and Michelle Amato. Rudolf Nureyev with Robert de Warren — Takes place from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Longboat Key Education Center, 5370 Gulf of Mexico Drive, Suite 212. In this multi-media presentation, Robert de Warren, international ballet director, choreographer and designer, recalls a 25-year collaboration and friendship with Rudolf Nureyev, one of the most celebrated dancers of ballet and modern dance of the 20th century. Kiwanis Club Pancake Breakfast — Takes place from 7 to 11 a.m. at St. Mary, Star of the Sea, Catholic Church, 4280 Gulf of Mexico Drive. The annual event will benefit children’s charities in Sarasota and Manatee counties. Cost is $10, and tickets can be purchased at the door, from Kiwanis Club members or at SunTrust Bank, 510 Bay Isles Road.

Savor the Sounds — Takes place from 6 to 8 p.m. at Bayfront Park, 4052 Gulf of Mexico Drive. The event will feature Latin jazz band SHAMAN in a picnic setting. Life Line Screening Preventive Health — Takes place at All Angels by the Sea, Episcopal Church, 563 Bay Isles Road. Five screenings will be offered that scan for potential health problems related to blocked arteries, aneurysms, hardening of the arteries, atrial fibrillation and bone density.
