An 88-year-old Longboat Key woman that lives on Harbourside Drive was found at 3 a.m. Tuesday, May 7 driving down a one-way street in downtown Miami with a trunk full of Longboat Key Publix groceries, according to Longboat Key Police Chief Pete Cumming.

The woman's daughter called the Longboat Key Police Department looking for her mother. Police searched the Key at 11 p.m. Monday, May 6 after being unable to locate her at her home. After police put out a "be on the look out" alert statewide, Miami Police Department officers located the woman in downtown Miami driving the wrong way at 3 a.m. She was not aware she was in Miami.

"We're just glad she's safe and she was found when she was," Cumming said. "It could have ended a lot worse."
