Longboat Key Publix pharmacy opens

The in-store pharmacy of Longboat Key Publix opened yesterday, approximately 16 months after the completion of the new store at 525 Bay Isles Parkway, in the Shoppes of Bay Isles.

The 49,000-square-foot store opened in December 2012, but as part of the Lakeland-based chain’s agreement with CVS, which also has a new store in the Publix-owned shopping center, Publix agreed to hold off on opening the pharmacy during its first 16 months of operation.

Pulix spokesman Brian West estimated the pharmacy area is approximately 300 square feet.

“We're very pleased to be able to bring our pharmacy services to our customers in the Longboat Key area,” West said.

Pharmacy hours are 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday; 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday; and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday. For information, call 383-4314.
