The Longboat Key Town Commission will select a mayor and a vice mayor for the coming year at tonight’s 7 p.m. statutory meeting at Town Hall.

The mayor and the vice mayor serve one-year terms. Currently, the town is being served by Commissioner Jim Brown as mayor and by Commissioner David Brenner as vice mayor.

Also at the statutory meeting, Brown, Brenner, Commissioner Terry Gans, Commissioner Phil Younger and Commissioner Jack Duncan will be sworn in for additional terms. The results of the March 12 municipal election will also be certified by the commission.
