Longboat Key man injured in fall on roof

An 88-year-old man was airlifted to Blake Medical Center in Bradenton yesterday after Longboat Key firefighters/paramedics found him on the roof of his residence on Edlee Lane.

The man fell more than 10 feet while trimming trees from a ladder on his roof, sustaining possible head and injuries. He was transported via Bayflite helicopter and was in stable condition yesterday.

Due to HIPPA regulations, Longboat Key Fire Rescue does not release the names of patients.
