Spring is in the air, and with the cold winter weather finally gone, golfers are hitting the greens in full force.

Whether you’re an avid golfer or you haven’t broken out your clubs in a while, the Longboat Key, Lido Key and St. Armands Key Chamber of Commerce’s 22nd annual amateur golf tournament is the perfect opportunity to enjoy a day of play.

The tournament will take place Friday, May 28, at the Longboat Key Club and Resort Islandside golf course. The tournament will be held in a scramble format with a shotgun start at 1 p.m.

Following the tournament, there will be a banquet dinner at the Islandside Dining Room featuring awards and raffle prizes, including Tampa Bay Rays tickets, personal-training sessions at Steve’s Fitness and a weekend stay at Rolling Waves Beach Cottages.

Cost of the tournament is $125 per golfer or $400 for a foursome. Registration fee includes green fees, golf cart, range balls, beverages while out on the course and the banquet dinner.

Deadline for registration is May 21, and openings are limited, so make sure to reserve your spot as soon as possible.

Major sponsors are the Longboat Key Club and Resort and Gold Coast Eagle Distributing.

Sponsorship opportunities for the tournament are currently available at all levels, ranging from major sponsors to golf-cart and hole sponsors.

“This really is a fabulous opportunity to golf on a beautiful course,” said LLSA Chamber President Tom Aposporos. “It’s going to be a wonderful event.”
