Lewis chooses SCAT head

Sarasota County Director of Planning and Development Rob Lewis today appointed Collier County Public Transit Manager Glamarier Carter as general manager of Sarasota County Area Transit, according to a memo to Sarasota County commissioners.

Carter will replace Acting General Manager Brenda Miller Aug. 27, and will oversee a SCAT budget that is expected to increase $1.4 million if Sarasota County commissioners adopt the 2013 fiscal year budget. The Collier Area Transit budget in the 2012 fiscal year was a little more than $3 million.
