LECOM welcomes dental students

Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine will welcome its second class of 100 dental students, during a 1 p.m. ceremony today.

As part of welcoming the Class of 2017, LECOM School of Dental Medicine Dean Dr. Robert Hirsch will distribute LECOM-issued dental scrubs to students. 

Classes for the students starts July 15, and begin with a two-week basic dental technician course to prepare them for work as dental assistants and community-based dental practices.

Second-year dental students resumed classes May 28 andn currently are working in LECOM's patient clinic, where they are providing denture services to patients.
