Disturbance: A landlord confronted her tenant about broken items in her apartment. The tenant wanted her security deposit back, but the landlord told her she is waiting on damage estimates. The landlord also said that the tenant slammed the door, causing the door to strike her in the arm, but she was not sure whether that was intentional.
Cleaning up the hood
10:48 p.m. — 5600 block of GMD
Noise: Police received a noise complaint about a convenience store. A cleaning crew was using a power washer to clean the kitchen hood system that was causing the noise. Police told them they would have to shut it down due to noise complaints, and the crew agreed to keep cleaning the hood without the power washer.

7:07 p.m. — 1600 Harbour Sound Drive
Alarm: Police responded to a home alarm and found the garage door open slightly. Officers secured the door after finding no evidence of tampering.

Vandalism: Police discovered graffiti on the northeast side of a vacant gas station building but were unable to discern what the writing said.
Off the hook
1:01 p.m. — 4500 block of GMD
Suspicious Person: A man who was fishing on a condominium's seawall told police he was visiting his parents, who own a unit there. He couldn't remember the building number but agreed to take police to the unit. Police left after the man's father confirmed he was staying there.
Cut and run
1:53 p.m. — 4200 block of GMD
A man reported his kayak missing from his property. He initially thought it could have been lost during storms the day before but then realized it had been tied at the cradle, and the lines were still there.
Key finding
5:37 p.m. — 5400 block of GMD
Found Property: A man stopped by the police station to drop off a keyring he found on a beach access. He used the barcode on one of two swipe cards on the ring to obtain the owner's phone number and left a voicemail for him stating that he would drop the keys off at the police station. Police called the owner, who said he would pick up his keys that night.
Call for help
10:15 p.m. — 300 block of Longboat Club Road
Disturbance: A hotel security guard reported that two men got into an argument. He did not witness the disturbance, but an unidentified man told him to call police. All parties left the scene before police arrived.
Thirsty thief
9:03 a.m. — 400 block of GMD
Vehicle Burglary: A man discovered his Tervis cup was missing from his vehicle, and his gym bag was missing from his wife's car. There was no forced entry to either vehicle. The man did not want the vehicles examined for prints but wanted the incidents documented.
Caregivers' quarrel
8:13 a.m. — 500 block of Golf Links Lane
Disturbance: Two caregivers got into a physical fight after one confronted the other for bumping into her. After two co-workers broke up the fight, one of the women retrieved a stun gun from her purse and threatened to tase the three, then drove to a nearby gas station and called police. Police were unable to obtain a statement from the owners of the home where the incident occurred because the couple has Alzheimer's disease. Police notified the agency the caregivers work for, along with the couple's legal guardian. None of the parties needed medical attention. A bathroom scale was broken during the fight.
Between a rock and a hard place
4:04 p.m. — 600 block of Dream Island Road
Property Damage: A man reported that he was driving north, and a truck driver stopped in the southbound lane motioned for him to proceed. The man did not believe there was enough room for the truck to pass through, so he backed up his vehicle and struck a large rock in the roadway. The man called the driver's company and was told to file a police report.
