Larry Starr forms alliance with Century 21 Beggins

Real-estate developer Larry Starr and the Apollo Beach-based Century 21 Beggins Enterprises announced a new Longboat Key real-estate alliance Monday afternoon.

The companies in Starr’s R1A portfolio — which include Resort Vacation Accommodations (RVA), Property One Annual Rentals, Sperry Van Ness Commercial Advisory Group, Realty One Florida — and Century 21 Beggins Enterprises will continue to operate as independent companies, but Beggins will offer residential real-estate services out of R1A’s four Longboat Key offices and downtown Sarasota headquarters.

“This will add one more layer of real-estate services,” said Jana Troyer, marketing coordinator at RVA.
Barrier Island Realty, an R1A company that offers residential real estate, won’t be dissolved, but all personnel will have the opportunity to join Beggins.

Craig Beggins, president and broker of Beggins, said Tuesday morning he has confirmation that all nine Barrier Island agents will join the company.

Beggins has five branches in the Tampa Bay area. Local headquarters for the expansion will be at Barrier Island’s current location at 7000 Gulf of Mexico Drive and in Realty One Florida’s office at 1626 Ringling Blvd., Suite 500, Sarasota. The company will also offer services at R1A company offices at 6350 Gulf of Mexico Drive, 4030 Gulf of Mexico Drive and Cedars Tennis Resort, 645 Cedars Court.

Beggins said he began discussions with Starr after reaching out to brokers throughout the region, some in locations as far away in Orlando.

“We have no presence at all in Sarasota and Bradenton,” Beggins said, listing his company’s other locations in Apollo Beach, Sun City Center, south Tampa, Madeira Beach and Indian Rocks Beach. “I’m really looking forward to having the whole Bay Area presence.”

The company will open its new offices May 1.
